Welcome to Mrs. Bass' Art Room website. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and getting started on our trip around the world to learn about many different cultures, art, and artists. Since I am new to South Daytona Elementary, I would like to take a minute to introduce myself. I have been teaching in Volusia County for 14 years, 5 in the art room and 9 in upper intermediate elementary classrooms. I graduated from Stetson University in Deland with my degree in art and education. In 2007, I earned my National Board of Teaching Certification. My husband and I have 2 children; our son Jonah who is 20 years old and a junior at Florida State University, and Alex, our daughter, who is 17 and a senior at Spruce Creek High School. We also have a German Short Haired Pointer named Marley. I am originally from New Jersey, but moved to Florida in 1986. Some of my favorite things are cooking, going to the beach, and being creative. I love spaghetti, iced tea, and anything with lemons. My family loves the Seminoles and we are big football fans. College football Saturday's are usually filled with friends, food and fun times. Fall is actually my most favorite time of the year....crisp and cool weather always brings a smile to my face. |
